EC-Mute

EC-Mute

The EC-Mute is a 2HP expander to the VPME Euclidean Circles. It is running on the same Firmware as Schleußig so it basically offers the same performance friendly way of switching channels of the Euclidean Circles on or off. Grouped switching:  press GROUP and select multiple channels to go either on or off as soon as GROUP is released. Synced switching: when SYNC is activated and a global clock is present switching of said groups starts at the beginning of a bar (quarter note, half note, two bars, 4 bars – user selectable). Perfect drops after breaks etc. FULL MANUAL AVAILABLE SOON .. Attach cables before putting it into the rack together with Euclidean Circles. See:
The upper jack on EC MUTE is the clock input. It can accept a regular clock or MIDI (TRS type A/B auto cross-over). There is a switch on the module to determine if you want to use MIDI or clock.
The lower jack is RESET. The upper jack is TRS and thus can in clock mode also accept Reset on the Ring position. It would be a bit more ergonomic with a Y splitter if you have one, than using the lower for reset.
(I had to place the jacks like this because they hold the panel.)
To set up the global functions you have to go to the setup menu:
press and hold SYNC, tap on GROUP while you keep holding sync. The sync LED and group button will start flashing. Keep that for ca. 5 seconds.
When the sync LED stops flashing you can release the SYNC button, you entered the menu.
Menu mute buttons functions from top to bottom:
  1. ON: Clock is expected 4PPQN, OFF: expected clock 24PPQN (don’t care when MIDI)
  2.  .. nothing
  3. SET DEFAULTS
  4. RESET input clock edge – ON: falling OFF: rising edge (don’t care when MIDI)
  5. ON: queued mutes feature on OFF: old behaviour
  6. .. nothing
Save and leave by pressing GROUP.
